Risks & Vulnerabilities of Digital Nations
When our “Big Bros” slip and let my
personal data to be leaked, there is really nothing I could do. It’s time he
wakes up and comes to his senses that current operational model of relying on
external vendors to operate and manage our data does not work any more. Plugging
holes every time there is a leak is totally reactive. “Big Bros” should take
ownership and implement control & preventive actions to manage our data
internally with competent people and terminate all external vendors whose
performances are deteriorating and lacking.
How many more breaches are needed before our “Big Bros” acknowledge this & take the proactive approach?

The World of Big Fish Eats Small Fish
Every new leader taking over a new role must
change ‘something’ to show the boss that they are just doing their job to
‘improve’ things.
Guardians with ‘small fishes’ currently should not be overly worried about this change. When the impact and effects of change kicks in after 10-20 years, most people would have already forgotten why the need to change in the first place.
My English friends said such change is akin to “putting old wine in new bottle”. My Chinese friends described such change as “换汤不换药”. IMO, it’s just another way of labeling our “fishes” as Grade1, 2, 3 with G3 fetching the highest “price”. So which fish type should guardian nurture to bring in the highest value? The answer is still on the wall, isn’t it?
