In the past, I believed that talent plus hard work would bring success. So I worked very hard every day and years trying to make it. Now someone said it’s often luck, not talent nor hard work that takes us to the top. Damn! I have wasted so much time and efforts. Sigh.
If you have self-taught yourself to produce high-quality stuff, you’re already great. If your stuff has perceived value and are in demand, you’re awfully greater. If your stuff sell like hot cakes at high prices, then you’re fantastically the Greatest!
Tom Hanks said, “If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that
makes it great.”
我不批评也不比试，只想挑战自己的画功。
I don’t contest nor comment. Every artwork is
a personal challenge to assess the level of difficulty for each face. Surely there
were difficult times but no difficult face to draw. Only some difficult persons
to deal with sometimes. This is life.
“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it”, said Confucius.
Art is a subjective matter.
If you like it, the artist may get flattered.
If you don’t like it, it doesn’t really
matter.
Artists are just like children. They won’t
stop doing what they love. 😊
