It's the End of May

UK politics have always been chaotic. It’s just much worse this time. This laid-back government has been enjoying good lives for a very long time and when this crisis strikes, nobody could handle it. When everyone in the house has his or her own hidden agenda and thinking, nobody can agree on anything. In times of crisis, a strong leader is needed to steer the ship. It’s a surprise that this lady took 3 years to realize this and has finally decided to resign from this tough job as it’s going nowhere. Perhaps, she has her own hidden agenda too to hang on to this job but it has no end her journey!

Lesson confirmed & re-learned: when most people reject or refuse to support your proposals, it’s time to go!

Ban PMDs on all footpaths lah!

I salute the French authorities for taking the decision to ban e-scooters from pavements. At least they have acknowledged this as a hazard to pedestrians’ safety. But it’s not the case here. Sigh!

All forms of PMD should be banned from our footpaths till our infrastructure is in place. It is disappointing that our policy-makers have chosen to close their eyes & ears and view the car-lite objectives as more important than pedestrian’s safety. In fact, only a few are using their PMDs for work travel. Most PMD users are from food-delivery crew who speed and bulldoze their way on footpaths as they are paid by delivery trip. Why should this policy benefit food-delivery businesses at the expense of pedestrian’s safety?
Unless and until our “big brothers” feel the pain of the bloody injured pedestrians, there will be no ban. Perhaps our voices on this issue are not loud enough as those from Monica Baey (victim of NUS peeping tom saga) that managed to change our legislations here.
