Head You Win, Tail I Lose!

After one death and numerous severe injuries, the ban of PMDs on footpaths came too late. From a pedestrian’s perspective, PMDs should have been banned when they first appeared here few years ago.
At that time, our public train systems were breaking down often. To defuse commuters’ anger, our Big Bros diverted attention to promote a car-lite society here (another joke by itself). The flood-gate was opened to allow all kinds of PMDs and shared bicycles on our narrow footpaths causing chaos and spilling blood. Now that our train systems are stabilized and back to normal, it’s time to close this gate with tax-payers’ money being used to clean up the sh** caused by shared bicycles and PMDs. Things happened for a reason. This is just another joke that would soon be forgotten by most people.
We just missed a technical recession and unemployment is at an all time high. Economy outlook is equally bad next year.
Transport fare was just raised in Dec 2018. Now again, the biggest fare hike in ten years has been approved to start from today. And now, our Big Bros are talking about the GST hike in the coming months. Cost of living keeps going up and many residents are feeling the squeeze. Something really isn’t right on this island. I asked many friends and neighbours on their opinions on these issues, they just sulked and 大吐口水! (spit).
I fully understand their feelings! Sigh!

To Say or Not to Say

Last week, my Boss sat down with me to do my annual performance appraisal.

I was told my output value is behind target and I spent too much time raising concerns that are beyond my control.

I reasoned that the poor output is due to current poor economic situation and those raised concerns are genuine as issues had affected my well-being. I admitted that nothing could be changed but at least I could express my feelings and voice my concerns and unhappiness on issues.

My Boss remained silent for a moment & then concluded our meeting that there would be no pay rise for me. Sigh!

I guess the older you get, the more you see things in perspective and take them as a pinch of salt.

Talk Is Cheap

When you have made it in life, talk is easy.

When health and money problems are not an issue, the mind would be at peace.

When you have achieved financial freedom and have no more worry, you are able to do what you want and enjoy a carefree life.
For most people, no health=no work=no money=no peace=no life. For older people, please add “no youth” in front.
