Many seniors here need to work to survive
in this country of ever rising cost of living. More so for those with little
savings and no passive income.
Seniors are already facing the challenge
to find works paying decent wages as most employers shun employing older
workers. The influx of younger and cheaper foreign talents adds to these
seniors’ woes. Raising the re-employment, retirement age and CPF contribution
for older workers would not address or solve this age-old problem. In fact,
many business owners are now worried about higher business costs for employing
older workers. The impact would be worst with tougher times ahead for seniors!
